From January 21 - 28, Canadian families are invited to spend “15 Minutes of Fun” learning and reading together – in celebration of Family Literacy Week. The annual event, taking place across the nation, invites adults and children to spend “15 Minutes of Fun” – which can include visiting their library and discovering something new, being curious about a new subject or discovering a new author!
Family Literacy Day is promoted by ABC Life Literacy Canada, a non-profit organization that inspires Canadians to increase their literacy skills.
Every year, Vancouver Island Regional Library celebrates with at-branch events and programs, as well as promoting its family-centered resources including online Homework Help, games and magazines, as well as new books - online and in print.
Enjoy a learning activity as a family and join your library in celebrating Family Literacy Week at your library!
