The Public Safety Committee is seeking input from the community on concerns they have around public safety in Nanaimo. Public Safety, a strategic priority of Council, supports the collective well-being of our community by protecting the lives of all our residents.
Join the Public Safety Committee, City staff and representatives from other stakeholder groups for an engagement session to discuss your concerns and provide input on important issues that affect our community. Pam Shaw, Director of the Master of Community Planning Program at Vancouver Island University along with her students will facilitate a World Cafe-style format where each table will feature a different topic for discussion.
Topics include:
- City Bylaws
- Emergency Management
- Future of the Community Policing and Services Office
- RCMP Priorities
- Public Safety Education
- Home Safety
- Empty and Derelict Buildings
- Public Disorder
Goals of the evening will be to determine priorities for the Public Safety Committee to focus on for 2018, future uses of the Community Policing and Service Office and address any concerns from the community.
All members of the public are invited.
