Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • East Vancouver Island - Duncan to Nanaimo
  • East Vancouver Island - Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay

Rain, at times heavy, continues.

A moisture-laden frontal system will continue to move across the south coast today.

Rainfall amounts since Sunday morning: 40 mm over Metro Vancouver, 30 mm over Fraser Valley, 70 mm over Howe Sound, 70 to 100 mm over East Vancouver Island. Heavy rain will continue today except for northern sections of East Vancouver Island. Additional rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm are expected today except up to 50 mm over eastern sections of Fraser Valley by early Tuesday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
